No One Left Behind

When Left 4 Dead first launched back in 2008, the video game industry didn't have that many competently designed, fun zombie shooters where you could play online with your friends. The sequel that came out a few years after made the franchise even more popular and after a long hiatus, the series creator TurtleRock Studios is finally back with Left 4 Dead's spiritual successor that introduces a few new ideas to the formula to make it even more replayable and engaging for years to come.

Cards For Everyone!

One of the most interesting features of the game is the card-based progression system. These cards act as modifiers for each match you play and there are a ton of different modifiers to use. Some modify the behaviour of the common infected, some modify the special infected like the Breakers and their health pool and damage output, some introduce various challenges that you need to complete for better rewards like avoiding car alarms and some are event-based cards like visually limiting foggy weather. In short, with this system, each level feels relatively fresh and changes the tactics you need to apply every time.

Gunplay and Level Design

To put it mildly, gunplay is one of the strongest aspects of the game. As much as Left 4 Dead will always remain a classic with competent shooting mechanics, the animations, recoil, sound design and weapon models all feel superior in Back 4 Blood. The zombies also react in a satisfying manner when shot and the ragdoll physics make it extremely entertaining when shooting a large swarm of infected with an automatic rifle as their limbs fly to pieces. The level design is another one of the strong suits of the game with lots of visual and functional variety that offers various unique objectives to complete with each level.

Back 4 Blood: Price UK

Back 4 Blood starts at under £30 and supports crossplay, meaning that you can play this game with your friends on other platforms. So if you are on PlayStation 5 but your friends are on Xbox Series X or PC, you can seamlessly party up and play together! If you're interested in more video games, you can also compare prices online for Battlefield 2042, FIFA 22 or Call of Duty: Vanguard
